API’s history, nearly three decades in Asia offering Quality Assurance for Household Goods

Originally the quality control department of the buying office of the Parisot Group, one of the largest furniture manufacturers in Europe, API boasts a 30 year track record in furniture testing and quality assurance for household goods.

API was established in 1994 as an independent company. Specialized in home equipment quality control, API has progressively built a strong expertise and recognition in its field.

API Milestones

  • 1981
    Creation of the buying office of the Parisot Asia Pacific.
  • 1994
    Creation of API, as a third party-inspection service company.
  • 2002
    API is spin-off from the Parisot Group through a successfully executed Leverage Management Buy Out (LMBO). The management takes over the company.
  • 2004
    Creation of API Lab Testing Ltd, initially as a laboratory facility for toys.
  • 2005
    Accreditations secured with HKIAS and HOKLAS.
  • 2007
    Creation of API Audit.
  • 2008
    AQSIQ licenses obtained in China to operate as a fully owned foreign company.
  • 2009
    WORMS SAFETY takes a majority stake in API.
  • 2010
    Recognition of API audit by ICS (Initiative for Compliance and Sustainability) as an approved audit entity for social audits.
  • 2011
    Grand opening in November of our lab testing entity in France – within the premises and with the support of ALBHADES PROVENCE SARL.
  • 2012
    API obtains the European Union Notified Body for Toys of the European laboratory testing.
  • 2015
    API becomes a member of SEDEX, as an approved audit entity for social audits
